Fahmida Advises People To Forge Unity in Their Ranks

BADIN: Acting President of Pakista, Dr. Fahmida Mirza here on Saturday said the country was passing through a crucial phase and there was need to forge unity among its inhabitants.

Addressing a ceremony held to mark restoration of the train service at Hyderabad Badin route on daily basis, she said unity among masses was important so as to make the enemy understand that the nation was united to defend the country.

She also expressed her satisfaction that daily train service at Hyderabad Badin route, suspended some eight years ago, was restored against a cost of Rs. 100 million to benefit the masses.

The acting President thanked the Prime Minister for providing special grant for restoration of Hyderabad Badin train service adding that such efforts will help in bringing improvement in the system.

Dr. Fahmida Mirza said that the government was making all out efforts to come up to the expectations of the people and for the purpose was trying to create coordination between public and private sector organizations.

This, she said, will help streamline development work.

Dr. Fahmida Mirza urged people, from all segments and sections of the society, to work with dedication and honesty and get materialized, the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Quaid-e-Awam Sheheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

She said the great leader Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had sacrificed her life for the people and the present government was fully committed to complete her mission of progress and prosperity of all Pakistanis.

Dr. Fahimda Mirza who also inaugurated Women Police Station and Benazir Park in Badin city, said it was due to the efforts of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto that women are not only present, in large numbers, in the parliament but also working in all government institutions.

She said that through Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Income Support Programme, the PPP government will help in improving the socio economic condition of the poor people of the country.

The present government is also focusing at health and education sectors, which are the main components of the basic rights to the common people, the acting President of Pakistan said.

She said that efforts were also being made to provide safe drinking water to the people.

Dr. Fahmida Mirza thanked the President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani for taking concrete measures for the upliftment of the masses and betterment of the country.

State Minister for Railway Faqir Jadam Mangrio in his welcome address referred to the performance of Pakistan Railways and praised the efforts of Dr. Fahimda Mirza.

He said that it was due to her efforts that Hyderabad Badin train service was restarted, on daily basis.

Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza and Sindh Local Government Minister, Zubair Ahmed also addressed the ceremony and highlighted the performance of the provincial government.
