Rice Arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice arrived in Islamabad early Thursday on a mission to defuse escalating tension between Pakistan and India after Mumbai terrorist attack.

During her one-day official visit, US Secretary of State would meet Pakistani leadership including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to discuss the post-Mumbai attacks Pak-India relations.

Condoleeza Rice would also inform Pakistani leadership about Indian stance with regard to Mumbai terror attack followed by her meetings with Indian leadership in her visit to the country on Wednesday.
