Canadian Foreign Minister Phones FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Canadian Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon had a telephonic conversation with Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi during which the situation in the region following the Mumbai attacks and bilateral relations were discussed.

Foreign Minister Qureshi condemned the heinous attacks in Mumbai and reiterated Pakistan’s offer of full cooperation to the Indian government in investigation of the deplorable crime. He also appreciated Canadian Assistance Programme for better border management between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Canadian Foreign Minister assured the Foreign Minister of his government’s support to seek the government’s efforts for financial support from IMF & ADB. He also reaffirmed Canadian support to the Friends of Democratic Pakistan Forum.
