Kidnapped British National Recovered

ISLAMABAD: The Capital police Friday busted a gang of kidnappers and recovered Pakistan-origin British national Mushtaq Ahmed (78) who was kidnapped for ransom last week.
SP Saqib Sultan briefing the media said the police have arrested five kidnappers while more arrests are expected, he added. He said Mushtaq Ahmed was kidnapped on November 23 from his home near Simly Dam on gun point by five armed persons. The accused also snatched Rs 5,000 and two mobile phones from the housemates. The kidnappers were demanding Rs. 200 million for the safe release of Mushtaq Ahmed, butlater agreed on Rs. 50 million. Mushtaq Ahmed's wife registered a FIR with Nilore police station on November 23, the SP said. A police team with the help of intelligence agencies traced the location of kidnappers through cell phone numbers through which they contacted the relatives of Mushtaq Ahmed for ransom. The SP said the police raided the site on November 27 and arrested five kidnappers with arms while three managed to flee. He said the kidnappers were residents of Kohistan and Diamer and working as labourers in Islamabad. The police is interrogating the kidnappers and more arrests are expected, he added.
