Blame-Game is Harmful For Both Countries: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the cabinet has unanimously condemned the Mumbai attacks.

He was addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting on Saturday.

Replying a question Qureshi said that the Indian officials have not yet presented any evidence. He reiterated Pakistan’s determination to curb terrorism.

Pakistan foreign minister said India will be extended complete cooperation at political and intelligence level. “Blaming Pakistan is playing in hands of a joint enemy,” he said.

The federal cabined has decided to take all political parties into confidence, he said.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will contact the political leadership of the country and he has contacted with the leaders of PML-N and PML-Q, he said.

The government will take all political parties, within or outside the parliament, into confidence.

The people and government of Pakistan are agreed that the country is not involved in the Mumbai incidents, he further said.

The government wants good ties with India, Qureshi said. “We have talked to India at President, Prime Minister level. We have nothing to fear because out hands are clean,” Qureshi added.

The foreign minister said that the Indian government should demonstrate responsibility in the critical situation.

He said the Indian media has leveled dangerous allegations against Pakistan, while the Pakistani media has acted very responsibly.

“India has requested to us for cooperation. They didn’t request for immediate cooperation. But they will tell us what cooperation they want from us,” the minister said.

Indianms have suspicions that some persons involved in the incidents could be from Pakistan.

Interior Advisor Rehman Malik was also present during the briefing.
