Govt May Come Forward With New Hajj Policy For 2009: Jumani

LARKANA: State Minister for Religious Affairs, Shaghfta Jumani said that Hajj policy for the year 2009 would be formulated in line with the aspirations of the Hajj pilgrims and fully facilitating them.
Talking to newsmen at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto after offering fateha and laying wreaths on the graves of Martyrs of Bhutto Family, on Friday, she said government was busy studying provision for a new Hajj policy. She said that since people's rule had been established in the country and people have pinned high hopes hence PPP government was making all out efforts to meet their expectations. She said it was for the first time that the portfolio of the religious affairs was given to a woman minister and she would try her best to enhance the credibility and image of the country in the world comity. She said that council of Islamic Ideology would soon be constituted. Shagufta Jumani said since present PPP government has assumed its responsibility it had given priority to the top issues of Sindh which included Thar coal project besides several other important schemes as shelter for shelter-less people.
