Provincial assembly cannot discuss judiciary: Sanaullah

LAHORE: Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan told the house on Tuesday that the provincial assembly could not discuss matters pertaining to judiciary.
He was responding to a point of order raised by Pir Ashraf Rasool belonging to treasury benches about reports published in a section of press regarding giving of extra marks to daughter of top judge of the country by Federal Board of
Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The minister said, "Provincial assembly cannot take up matters pertaining to judges."
However, he was of the view that the house should have authority to discuss all issues pertaining to rulers and high government functionaries.
The mover demanded that the provincial government should take up the matter of upgrading of result of daughter of the CJ with the federal government so that people could know facts in this regard.
Opposition strongly protested against the point of order and said that matters pertaining to judiciary should not be brought under discussion in the house.
On another point of order of Mohsan Leghari, the law minister said that new Prosecution General, Punjab would be appointed soon.
