Six Iranian Films in Indian Film Fest

MUMBAI: The 39th Indian International Film Festival which opened on Saturday has devoted a special section to Iranian films.
Some six Iranian films will be screened in the section in which the directors of the films will also be present.
Commenting on the festival, director of Iran's Cultural Office in India, Abdelhamid Ziaei said in New Delhi that the entity is involved in organizing the event.
Following coordination made with the director of the international section, it was agreed that Iranian films will be featured in the event.
The films 'Mainline' by Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, 'Slowly' by Maziar Miri, 'Abandoned Station' by Ali Reza Raeisian, 'Star Cafe' by Saman Moqaddam, 'Cow' by Darioush Mehrjouei and 'Fish Fall in Love' by Ali Rafiei were selected for screening at the festival, he said.
Ziaei, who will address the inaugural ceremony of the special section, further said that in addition to the Iranian directors, actresses Niki Karimi and Hanieh Tavassoli will also take part in the event.
Niki Karimi will serve on the panel of jury of the festival, he noted.
The 39th Indian International Film Festival, which opened in Panaji, Goa in south India, on November 22, features films from Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
