Quake Rocks Southern Iran

TEHRAN: An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale has shaken the city of Nodan in the southern Iranian province of Fars.

Tehran University Geophysics Institute reported that the temblor occurred at 01:43 local time Wednesday (2213 GMT on Tuesday).

The epicenter of the quake was located at 51.72 degrees longitude and 29.81 degrees latitude.

There are currently no reports of any casualties or property damage caused by the quake.

Iran is located at the juncture of some of the world's most active seismic faults and is jolted on an almost daily basis.
