Iftikhar Chaudhry Reaches Rawalpindi Bar


ISLAMABAD: The sacked chief justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry Monday reached the Rawalpindi Bar to address the lawyers on the Black Day announced by the lawyers movement leaders. Large number of lawyers chanted slogans on arrival of the deposed chief justice at the Bar. Meanwhile, President Supreme Court Bar Ali Ahmed Kurd has said that the objective of the lawyers’ movement is restoration of the judiciary to its Nov. 2, 2007 position. “Anyone who thinks that the movement has been fall down with restoration of eight to 10 judges is on mistake,” Kurd talking to media here said. The lawyers would not return back to homes till restoration of the judiciary on pre Nov. 3 position, the lawyers’ leader said. Replying a question he said the talks with the government can be held if allowed by the lawyers, he further said. The lawyers’ movement has entered in its third phase he said and added that the movement will be strengthened with the passing time.
