Karachi Teen Bride, Bridegroom, Their Parents bailed out

KARACHI: The court has set free on bail the bride, 4 and the bridegroom, 5 besides their parents arrested for being involved in arranging children’s marriage at Nazimabad area here, which was timely foiled by the police.

Police presented the teen bride, bridegroom, their relations and the ‘Nikah Khawn’ in the court. The grandfather of the children, Anwar Hussain in his petition filed in the court said that the police have been keeping the children in habeas corpus since last 36 hours and none of their relations was being allowed to meet them and therefore, the court should take action against the police.

The court, thereafter, ordered for the release of the children and their parents on bail. It may be recalled that the children were presented in the court without any FIR. Police said that they have taken action under section VI of the 1929 Act, while the police witnesses presented in the court included the ‘Nikah Khawn’, neighbour Nazakat and SHO Nazimabad himself. The police yesterday had foiled an attempt of getting the children Wasim, 5 ½ and Nisha, 4 married at Mujahid Colony, Nazimabad area here.
