Tariff issue to Be Resolved Next Week: Ashraf

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf Wednesday said that the power tariff issue will be decided by the next week. “Providing relief to common men is our top priority.” Talking to newsmen at Parliament House he said the country is presently facing a shortfall of 1400 megawatts. The power supply to the industrial and domestic consumers has been improved due to which loadshedding hours have decreased, the minister said. The minister said that the government was working over the Thar Coal Power Project and import of power from Iran and the Central Asia. He promised that the problem of loadshedding will be resolved by December 2009.
