KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Team’s captain Shoaib Malik refused to accept the blames by Mohammad Yousuf, harboring no grudge towards him.

"I don't agree with his criticism. Respect is something that only God can give, not us," Malik said giving his reaction over Yousuf’s recent interview.

"There was no communication gap. I've played with senior players like Inzamam and Yousuf my whole career. I have learnt a lot from them.”

"I never felt Yousuf was upset over anything. In the domestic matches everything was normal. All senior players have been supportive. Yousuf didn't play in the last match because I was told his wife was ill."

Malik said he hoped young players, like all-rounder Fawad Alam, would fill the gap left by Yousuf in the West Indies series, which starts from Wednesday.
