KARACHI: The newly appointed coach of Pakistan cricket team Intikhab Alam has said that Pakistan cricket team is relatively batter than West Indies, and Pakistan will showcase good performance in up coming series against West Indians.
According to details talking at a press conference here at National Stadium Intikhab Alam has said that Pakistan is better team than West Indies as in the West Indian teams has some new boys in their line up while Pakistan will be playing with experience.
This experience line up of Pakistan cricket team will have edge over West Indians, he added. Intikhab Alam has hoped that in the up coming series Pakistan will showcase batter performance.
He said that the playing conditions of Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in the one-day series against West Indies will be conducive for Pakistan,
“There will be no grass, no bounce and no wind blowing so it will be an advantage for us,” he told reporters at the conclusion of two-day training camp at National Stadium.
He expressed the hope the series will be exciting and Pakistan team go all out to win the series.
“Series against Windies will be good preparations for us for the Indian team’s tour to Pakistan early next year,” he remarked.
He said West Indies is good team and it will be challenging series.
He said team was well prepared and got good replacements for Muhammad Yousuf.
66-year-old Intikhab Alam said Pakistan got test leg-spinner in Danish Kaneria and Shahid Afridi, Fawad Alam but agreed that they needed got left arm spinner and they will be looking for it.
He said he was looking for cohesion among the members of the team and candidly discussed various issues among the senior players during their meeting on Friday.
