Operation to last till elimination of terrorists

PESHAWAR: Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik Friday night while defending continuation of operations against the insurgents till their total elimination and reiterated government's strong resolve to come hard on them.

Talking to media men after attending a briefing on law and order situation here at headquarters of Frontier Corps at Balahisar Fort, Malik said, "they are killing innocent people, they are enemies of Pakistan's integrity, they are neither serving Islam nor the country.”

To a question, he said, the government would eliminate them at any cost and would come hard on them in areas where they have challenged the government's writ.

He said all operations would continue unabated in the settled parts of the NWFP and Fata till the time government's writ was established.

To a question, he said formulation of a comprehensive strategy was on cards to prevent rockets attacks on sensitive areas in Peshawar and others parts of the province. He said this in the backdrop of recent rocket attack on Peshawar Airport.

Federal Secretary Interior Syed Kamal Shah, IGFC Major General Tariq Khan, and ACS Fata Habibullah Khan were present on the occasion.
