Karachi: Flights Diverted due to heave fog

KARACHI: Several flights due to arrive at Jinnah International Airport on Monday were diverted to other cities because of heavy fog and low visibility while departure of some flights was delayed.

According to Meteorological department’s airport office, heavy fog surrounded the airport area from 5:40am to 9:00am, causing disruption to the flights.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that Muscat-to-Karachi flight PK 226 was diverted back to Muscat due to heavy fog. Flight PK 4403 due to arrive in Karachi form Faisalabad made an emergency landing at the Nawabshah airport.

These two flights were delayed upto four hours. While some domestic flights could not leave for their destination in time.
