Govt. set to take stiff actions against rebel lawyers

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to take stiff actions against the rebel lawyers, for which, the President has issued an Ordinance making amendment in the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act 1973.
Under the amended Ordinance-2008 effective forthwith, committees and tribunals will be set up for conducting enquiries into the charges leveled against the lawyers for violating the rules. The Ordinance empowers such committees and tribunals to reprimand, suspend and stop from practicing besides slapping penalty on the lawyers found guilty of violations.
