Govt Fails to Check flour prices

KARACHI: The Sindh government has miserably failed to implement its decision of providing flour at Rs26 per kg as it is being sold at Rs36 to Rs38 per kilogram in most of shops in metropolis.
While people have complained that sub-standard Aata is being supplied at utility stores and flourmills.
Sindh food department had fixed ex-mill flour price at Rs22 per kg and retail price at Rs26 per kg. However, it is being sold at higher prices of Rs36 to Rs38 per kilogram in shops.
On the other hand, people complained about the quality of Aata being sold at utility stores. Shopkeepers said they were selling fine quality flour at higher prices.![]()
