COAS meets Saudi Military leadershipM

RIYADH: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani who is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia Saturday called on
Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Prince Khalid Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Alsaud, Assistant Defence Minister here Saturday.

During the two meetings matters of mutual interest were discussed and it was agreed to further enhance the traditional brotherly relations between armies of both the countries.

Both sides stressed on the unique nature of relationship between the two countries. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to maintain and reinforce their relationship for peace and security in the region.

The COAS expressed his gratitude to the Saudi Government and People for exemplary support extended to Pakistan at all times.

General Kayani also called on Lieutenant General Hussain Bin Abdullah Al-Qubayyal, Commander Royal Saudi Land Forces, and discussed matters of professional interest and cooperation.

Earlier on his arrival at Headquarters of Land Forces Command, a welcome ceremony was held.

COAS was presented a guard of honour by a contingent of Royal Saudi Land Forces.

In recognition of his services towards strengthening relationship between two countries, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was conferred upon the King Abdul Aziz excellence medal, the highest military medal of Saudi Arabia, on behalf of King Abdullah.
