40 militants, 3 Security Men killed in Mohmand, Swat

SWAT: Fourty militants were killed in military operation carried out by the security forces in various areas of Swat, Mohmand Agency and Bajaur on Saturday. Three security personnel also lost their lives in the action.

An exchange of fire between security forces and militants in Swat killed 15 militants and 3 security men. Seven people were killed and 8 others injured when mortar shells landed on houses in Kharedai area of Matta.

According to ISPR, 10 militants were killed in exchange of fire between security forces and insurgents in Shang Watai area of Matta. Three security men were also killed in the clash.

In another operation by security forces in Vinai area of Matta, three militants and a security man were killed while two more militants were killed in Sanghota area of Mengora.

Militants’ positions in Chaharmang, Chinar and Banda in Tehsil Nawagai of Bajaur Agency were also pounded with heavy artillery.

Security forces launched air strikes on militants’ hideouts in Tehsil Khar, killing 16 militants.

Earlier, 7 militants were dead in a clash with security forces in Karpa area of Mohmand Agency.
