2 Spanish Soldiers killed in SAuicide Attack in Afghanistan

KABUL: Two Spanish soldiers were killed in a suicide attack in the Afghan province of Harat while a Canadian female journalist, kidnapped a month ago, has been freed.
A military spokesman of Italy has confirmed deaths of two Spain soldiers in the Talibans’ suicide attack in Shindand, an area of South Harat.
According to the spokesman, Italy is leading NATO in Western Afghanistan and 25 Spanish soldiers have been killed during the current year.
Earlier, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reporter Mellissa Fung, who was kidnapped from Kabul a month ago, has been released.
She had come for discharging her professional duties to Kabul from where unknown persons abducted and shifted her to Vardak province.
Tribal elite held dialogue with the kidnappers and she was freed after the successful dialogue with them.
Officials said that no ransom for her release was paid.
Mellissa Fung said that how kidnappers kept her in a hole in the ground in Afghanistan for four weeks, sometimes chained and blindfolded.
The 35-year-old was handed over to intelligence officials late Saturday near the town of Maydan Shah, about 50 kilometres (30 miles) southwest of the capital.![]()
