11 Militants Killed in Bajaur; 12 Surrendered

KHAR: Eleven militants were killed when security forces carried out airstrikes on their positions in Zorbandar and Sabagi areas of Bajaur here Monday.

According to gunship helicopters carried out aerial surveillance in various parts of the volatile agency and targeted militants’ hideouts in
Zorbandar and Sabagi.

Meanwhile, twelve tribal militants surrendered themselves to the authorities in the agency on Monday after they agreed to lay down their arms at a jirga of Salarazai tribes held here in Khar.

According to ARY OneWorld, a dozen militants laid down their arms to the jirga of Salarazai tribe who were later handed over to the political authorities of the Bajaur Agency.

The Utmankhel tribe also held a jirga to hand over the local militants who laid down their arms before Political Administration.

The two jirgas also took various decisions against the local militants.

Moreover, most of the Afghan refugees are returning to their country on the second day of a three-day deadline given to them for leaving the Mamond tehsil of Bajaur Agency.
