Home Minister Reordered Shoot-At-Sight

KARACHI (Kashif Hussain): Provincial Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza has reissued shoot-at-sight orders to law enforcement agencies following the escalation of ethnic riot in the city, reported ARY OneWorld.

Addressing Sindh assembly session here Monday, the minister said he has ordered security forces in written to shoot the armed men at sight. He claimed only 20 people have so far been killed in the city and over hundred were injured.

He said the riots could easily be controlled in six hours if serious efforts were made.

Refusing the possibility of calling in private security in the city, Mirza maintained the ongoing violence is being occurred in the jurisdictions of only four out of 103 police stations of Karachi, while the rest of the city is in peace, he added.
